Hlynur Helgason (Iceland),

Dr. Hlynur Helgason is a practicing artist and media philosopher residing in Reykjavík Iceland. As an artist he has predominantly worked with site-specific photographic and cinematic installations, often involving the conmingling of the human and the material. He currently holds the post of assistant professor in Art Theory at the University of Iceland, Reykjavík. His topics of research are mostly centered on temporality and possibilities of agency in contemporary art. In 2013 he published the book The Beyond Within: Post-Cinematic Possibilities of Play and Action with Atropos Press.
